- A must have For Every PlatenThese Graphite Belts work perfectly just as described.. Really helped get rid of the chatter on my 1 x 30, and heat transfer was drastically reduced on my 2 x 42. This is a must have in every shop! As the previous person said, as it wears out it will transfer some graphite on the back of the belts but it doesn't effect performance at all. Just replace when the graphite is worn out.

- definite neccessityworks great for light,med ,moderate even heavy-and evenly applied- pressure. will start to make the backs of belts coat w graphite when wearing out which doesn't seem to hurt traction.

This material is commonly used for a platen surface on a belt grinder. The graphite impregnated canvas is super slippery and reduces friction between the back of the belt and the platen. Reduced friction means less heat transmitted into the metal. Use double sided tape or rubber cement to hold it place.
