The 64tpi on these allows a much finer adjustment when dialing in your knife build.
This is a part of a three part pivot system. You use two heads and pivot barrel. We would also suggest adding a bushing to the barrel to fit blade/washer stackup perfectly. Some makers prefer a fancy pivot head on one side and a traditional screw head on the back side. We will also have button head screws in this fine pitch in #8 and #6 sizes in both stainless and titanium to fit one side of the knife.
This disc head was designed to be used as is or customized - mostly customized. You can chuck one into a hand drill and run it against your belt sander to dome or shape the pivot head. You can also drill, file, notch, whatever.
The disc head is .373" so you can use a standard cutter in .375" (3/8") diameter to countersink these.
