These Cobalt M42 chucking reamers are quite a bit tougher than HSS reamers but more economical than carbide. Use these when you want your reamers to last. These are not made for hardened steel. Use carbide for hardened steel.
Tip: When you want more precision in holes, drill slightly under size and then ream to size. The slower speed you ream, the closer the tolerance in the hole.
