6" Thermocouple can be connected directly to the digital meter, by

using the provided alligator clip wire with banana connectors,

it can also be connected to temperature controllers using the original screw connector.

6" Thermocouple can measure VERY HIGH temperature limit up to 2372 °F(1300°)

Meter can only display up to 1999°F (1250°C).

You can adjust the length of this thermocouple by bending the probe/thread at installation.

To use the 6" thermocouple, they recommend placing the probe under the metal
as it sits in the forge. This will give the most accurate reading.

Typical use is to learn the correlation between temp and color.

After a while, you will learn the color and no longer need the thermocouple except for Heat Treating.

Meter also comes with the small k-type thermocouple good for up to 482°F (tempering)
