G10 - Purple Peel Ply Medium

Peel Ply isn't well known. It is typical G10 but has a thick plastic sheet on the top of it that you peel away and pitch. The underside of this thick plastic sheet has a texture that is imprinted into the G10 during the curing process. When you peel the plastic, the texture on the top of the G10 is left. This gives you a high end look that can't be achieved by hand finishing.
Note: The peel away layer is on the shiny side of the G10, and will usually have frayed edges. It can sometimes be difficult to remove, especially on the coarse texture. Try sliding the edge of a utility knife under it at one of the corners. once you get it started, it comes off much easier.
Tip: You can grind down the edges to soften it up but you wouldn't want to grind away the texture entirely. The textured Peel Ply costs extra.
