Carbide Drill
Straight Flute
These carbide drill bits feature a straight flutes versus the typical helical flutes. The advantage to straight flutes is you get a more round hole. The disadvantage is they don't clear swarf or chips so they don't work well in deep holes. This isn't a factor in knife making.
Tip: Carbide prefers high speed and plenty of cutting lube. Make sure there isn't any lateral pressure as carbide is brittle and will snap if subjected to torque.
