These professional-grade 9-inch cork discs are a versatile multi-tool for any knifemaking shop or glass studio. Crafted from 100% natural, unvarnished cork, these 1/4" thick rounds provide the perfect balance of firmness and resilience for high-precision finishing.
Key Applications
- Knife Stropping & Deburring: Use as a stand-alone stropping surface to strip away stubborn micro-burrs left behind by stones or machine sharpening. The dense cork composite effectively deburrs without aggressively abrading your edge.
- Carrier for Polishing Compounds: These discs work as an excellent carrier for fine pumices, chromium oxide (green chrome), or other polishing pastes. Load the disc while spinning to achieve a brilliant mirror polish on steel or a frosty finish on glass.
- Cushioned Sanding Backer: When applied to a disc grinder hub, the 1/4" thickness offers a "just-right" cushion for sandpaper. This flexibility allows the abrasive to follow the natural curves of knife handles, ensuring smooth, consistent sanding without flat-spotting curved surfaces.
