BP2000 POWDER: (Comes with precision applicator)

0.1oz / 3 grams

Pure powdered sub-micron, passivated molybdenum disulfide (moly) lubricant with a natural bonding affinity for metal. Meets MIL-M-7866 / AMS-M-7866 requirements. BP2000 is great for trigger jobs and fine-tuning bores, bolts and slides. BP2000 aids in barrel break in by reducing the number of rounds needed for the break in process. BP2000 can be used on its own or on top of SMOOTH-KOTE. When used with SMOOTH-KOTE, friction is reduced by as much as an additional 20%, compared to oiled surfaces. BP2000 POWDER and SMOOTH-KOTE should be used together on any surface which needs smoothness and high lubricity such a trigger part surfaces and match barrels. Hammer and sear trigger systems treated with these products will have smoother and lighter trigger pulls.

What is BP-2000 Powder:

BP2000 POWDER is pure powdered sub-micron, passivated molybdenum disulfide. Our molybdenum (mloy) disulfide has a natural bonding affinity for metals. BP2000 Powder is based on dry film technology. It is specially prepared with strict controls on particle size (sub-micron) and chemical composition (passivated) . BP2000 is the finest lubricating powder available. When worked into any metal surface BP2000 Powder provides a dry bonded film of lubrication which sheds dirt and residue so cleaning is simple.

BP2000 Powder is an excellent choice for moly powder bullet coatings. Many snipers coat their bullets with moly powder just as seen on TV in a recent episode of NCIS. Bullet coating has become quite popular with competition shooters and some snipers. More than ten years ago Sentry Solutions considered methods of reducing fouling in long range and high-powered rifles. We knew if fouling could be reduced, a rifle's accuracy could be maintained over a greater number of rounds. Sentry Solutions set about developing lubricants, which would solve this problem. Once we developed the lubricant we analyzed the application procedure. We quickly realized treating and coating bullets presented more challenges than we expected. First, there was simply the amount of work involved. Handling and, cleaning all the bullets and dealing with all of the materials needed to get the job done became a job in itself. Second, we found that treating bullets might result in a build up of material on the bore's surface. Third, was the issue of consistency. Getting consistent coatings on bullets was very time consuming and sometimes impossible. Fourth, reloaders who coated their bullets were now faced with recalculating their charge weights to compensate for the lower release pressures of the bullets. So Sentry Solutions decided on a simpler and less expensive approach- treat the bore. Coating the bore of any firearm with a micro bonded layer of lubrication turns out to be the best way of reducing fouling. It completely solves the issue of material build up by introducing a finite amount of material in the first place. Rather than every round fired introducing more material and causing a build up; every round fired actually removes a little of the coating from the bore. Build up is never a problem. BP2000 Powder bonds with metal better than it does to itself. Once the powder is applied to the bore any excess is fired out with the first rounds.

If you have used Brownell's Action Magic II, you've used SMOOTH-KOTE and BP2000 Powder.

Many shooters have been shocked by the improvements they've seen in their trigger pulls when BP2000 Powder is applied to the trigger parts. If you are using Brownell's Action Magic II, Part A is BP2000 Powder and Part B is SMOOTH-KOTE. Sentry Solutions' SMOOTH-KOTE and BP2000 Powder may be used independently or together. How you use them depends on the results you are looking for. The key is to do some experimentation. Trigger creep can be eliminated and trigger pulls can be reduced. Barrels can be broken in with fewer rounds and barrels will maintain their accuracy for more rounds. All metal surfaces treated with BP2000 Powder will have a non-stick finish so residues cannot adhere. The benefit is cleaning solvents can be eliminated and replaced with simple "brush off cleaning".

Meets MIL SPEC MIL-M-7866 / AMS-M-7866 requirements.

Note:
Surfaces treated with BP2000 will have a silvery gray mirror like finish. If in doubt about color, test on an interior surface.

Directions:
  • Clean surfaces well; use a cleaner that leaves no residue, or use alcohol to rinse the cleaned surfaces before treating. Allow surfaces to dry.
  • Apply a small amount of BP2000 POWDER to a clean patch, clothe or bore mop and briskly rub the powder into the metal surface. For tight spaces, dip a cotton swab into powder and work into the surfaces.
To maintain surface:
  • Use a dry, nylon-bristle brush to remove dirt & residues. Surface can then be touched up with BP2000.
  • BP2000 is not a permanent coating; it can be removed using conventional cleaning solvents.
  • Any surface treated with BP2000 can be touched up with SMOOTH-KOTE.
  • To clean hands the use of a waterless hand cleaner is recommended, followed by mild soap & water.
Directions for use of BP2000 Powder on top of SMOOTH-KOTE:
BEFORE BEGINNING, ENSURE THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED AND THAT THERE IS NO LIVE AMMUNITION AT HAND.
WE RECOMMEND WEARING GLOVES WHEN WORKING WITH SMOOTH-KOTE; & SOLVENTS.
  • Use gloves if available, otherwise waterless hand cleaner is suggested for clean up.
  • Clean surfaces well; use a residue-free cleaner or rinse the cleaned/degreased surface with rubbing alcohol, methanol or ethanol before treating.
  • Stir & shake SMOOTH-KOTE well. Apply a thin coat to all interior surfaces, including the bore, using a brush, dipping, spraying or the Precision Applicator.
  • For bore treatments use clean dry patches on a tight fitting jag (bore mop for shotguns) for the best coating. Patches should be wet but not dripping. Allow 2 hours at room temperature for curing or after dry, use a hair dryer to warm the metal to shorten curing time.

After SMOOTH-KOTE is dry proceed as above with BP2000 Powder. Surfaces can be maintained and touched up using SMOOTH-KOTE or BP2000 Powder.
