TIP: You really want to have a minimum of 2 saw blades on hand. One small tooth, one big tooth. I keep a new one in the package of each for back up. The rule of thumb is to have 3 teeth touching the metal when cutting. In practice on thinner metals this just doesn't happen but I still use no bigger than an 18tpi (teeth per inch) blade. Generally, for 1/8" and thinner, you want a 18tpi blade. For 1/8" to 3/16" thick, you want a 14tpi. For thicker, you want a 10tpi. I tend to prefer the vari tooth myself when I can get them. They are not made in all the tpi's though.
Tip: There is such a thing as breaking in a blade to get longer life. Basically, you slow your saw down (if you can) or you cut at half the speed rate you would normally for 10 minutes. If you find you are shearing teeth off and getting skips in the blade, try spending just 10 minutes slower cutting speed on your next new blade. It works.

They cut faster, last 10 times longer than carbon flex back or hard back, and have excellent shock and abrasion resistance.
