This may sound self serving just as a way to sell you more belts, but I assure you it isn't. Use belts like they are free. Ask a veteran knife maker if you don't believe us. Dull belts will create problems grinding. Dull belts grab giving you a wiggly grind line. Dull belts grind hotter burning you or causing you to dunk and cool more often. The worst problem is dull belts force you to use heavy pressure to get them cutting and this compunds all the other issues plus it gives you less control. The belt should do the cutting. You should not have to push against the wall to get more pushing leverage.
